HEB TEXAS MASTER NATURALIST POLLINATOR GRANT
Jim Bob Art Park & Nature Trails is honored to receive $3,500 in funding from HEB Pollinators for Texas Initiative. The Texas Master Naturalist Big Country Chapter, based in Abilene, is our expert guide and partner in this conservation initiative.
POLLINATOR FRIENDLY HABITAT
We’re creating nearly 4,000 sq. ft. of pollinator-friendly habitat at Jim Bob Art Park & Nature Trails to support the vital role pollinators play in our ecosystems through education, conservation, and community engagement.
WHY POLLINATORS MATTER
Pollinators – bees, butterflies, beetles, flies, moths, and hummingbirds are essential to our ecosystems. They help:
Food security – One-third of the food we eat depends on pollinators.
Biodiversity – Pollinators support plants, birds, mammals, and more.
Healthy ecosystems – They maintain soil, water systems, and wildlife habitats.
Economic value – Pollination contributes billions of dollars to U.S. agriculture each year.
PREVIOUS EFFORTS
This project builds on the Park’s ongoing conservation efforts, including the Sydney Thiele Kuehler Wildflower Garden.
